Fox News: We Report Whatever the Bush Administration Wants Us to, and Then You Decide

Good God! A mere three years until the mullahs of Iran develop nuclear weaponry?
Meanwhile, from the rest of the news-reporting world, various accounts of this same news seemed to imply something entirely different. Not that Roger Ailes is fabricating news rather than spinning it as is customary, but, hey:
The following news, also reported yesterday, comes via “Iran Is Judged 10 Years From Nuclear Bomb; U.S. Intelligence Review Contrasts With Administration Statements“, the Washington Post, Tuesday, August 2, 2005:

A major U.S. intelligence review has projected that Iran is about a decade away from manufacturing the key ingredient for a nuclear weapon, roughly doubling the previous estimate of five years, according to government sources with firsthand knowledge of the new analysis.
The carefully hedged assessments, which represent consensus among U.S. intelligence agencies, contrast with forceful public statements by the White House.

I agree with David. Fox stopped being a credible news source long ago. Even it’s fans admit it’s incredible amount of bias.

its not that big of a deal really. they deserve nuclear weapons!
that new leader of theirs really has his head on straight….
Iranian President-Elect Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, broadcast on Iranian Channel 1 on July 25, 2005:
“Is there art that is more beautiful, more divine, and more eternal than the art of martyrdom? A nation with martyrdom knows no captivity. Those who wish to undermine this principle undermine the foundations of our independence and national security. They undermine the foundation of our eternity.
The message of the (Islamic) Revolution is global, and is not restricted to a specific place or time. It is a human message, and it will move forward.
Have no doubt… Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.”
who are we to argue with that right?
god i hate america. praise allah and duh….

But according to the ads on your site, there are still tons of beautiful single republicans running around. Praise Allah indeed!

Horns,
So what, exactly, was your point? Yeah Iran is bad, I don’t think that’s up for debate. They pretty well proved that with that whole hostage thing. The question I’d like answered though is should Fox News be inciting fear in the American people by reporting three years while the rest of the media reports ten? Don’t get me wrong, you’ll have trouble finding a guy who’s more opposed to a nuclear Iran then me. I’m pretty much against nuclear proliferation in general.

“wait, ppl still watch foxnews? MY GOD!”
Probably because, fairly often, Fox is the only cable news channel broadcasting news. MSNBC runs stale old footage on “Headliners and Legends” half the time on the weekend, and CNN runs their own variety of non-news crap, like the shambling undead body of Larry King lobbing softballs at some vapid guest.
Sad to say, but there are big chunks of the week when FOX News is the only news network running news.

Jon H – watch Fox News more closely next time.
Yes, they might be running more shows, but more often than not it’s opinion-based, not news-based. There’s a difference.
It really should be called the Fox Opinions Channel.

I used to be a ‘Fox Fan’. Until that scandal concerning Jeff Gannon/James Guckert cropped up. I had heard about it on NBC news, but hardly any coverage on FOX. It seems that he was a know-it-all talking head guest from time to time. Talk about egg on their faces! I was surprised to hear that Bush would let a homosexual prostitute have free run of the Whitehouse. Things that make you go HMMMM. Well I started to watch CNN and MsNBC as replacements. Now I understand why people were saying that FOX are neocon mouthpieces. ‘Fair and Balanced’ my eye!

Any one who ever imagned ANY ‘news’ organization to be more than a jumble of agenda driven opinions is a child! ‘News’, yes kids, even ‘history’ is just someone’s version of what might have happened. I agree with the Chinese! Only soft and squishy news allowed on the web! At least the ‘bloggers’ have it right – it’s their g-dam opinion and you better like it or else! Have another shot of wiskey with our president, buy more gas and f off! Personally, I’m logging off for good and selling my computer for crack money. and yes, sunshine, i will NOT be reading your responce to this!
