From today’s Page Six:
“Heeb, the hip [sic.] quarterly dubbed ‘The New Jew Review,’ had used [publicist Susan] Blond to promote its launch in 2002. The magazine’s new cover announces ‘Back Off Braveheart’ to tout a photo feature inside called ‘Crimes of Passion.’ Editor-in-chief Josh Neuman wasn’t very forthcoming in describing the offensive photos: ‘It’s our interpretation of Jesus’ final hours. It’s what you’d expect from Heeb magazine.”

I attended Heeb’s 2nd (or 3rd?) issue launch party. I have not set foot in Williamsburg since and have absolutely no desire to. Hipster overload…
If by “hipster” you mean a bunch of famliy money dorks standing around using hip hop slang with no irony in $65 Chuck Taylors patting themselves on the back for having a N.E.R.D. album at home and talking about Star Wars, then yes, by all means.
It’s some kind of overload.
no, j, even worse: using hip-hop slang with irony. alongside patting themselves on the back for having a neutral milk hotel album at home and talking about the recently-released punk’d dvd outtakes.
Or rather dropping that they love The Love Below (because that Outkast double album is only one really) and wearing Dunks in between talking about globalization and that last episode of The O.C.
hipster bashing is so last-year’s blog cycle
