Regis Loses a Cat
I was moved yesterday by Regis Philbin’s announcement that his cat, Ashley, had passed away. I remember the early stories of Ashley when he had to have a tooth pulled. Regis is an excellent imitation of him then. That’s more than 15 years ago. My sympathies to Regis, Joy, JJ and Joanna. (Roger Friedman)

When I read the “Regis is an excellent imitation of him then,” I didn’t understand what Friedman was saying. And after reading it 10 times, I still don’t.
the only way i can read it, after many attempts, like you, is to assume that “is” is “did”, but, man…fox’s editorial team sucks.
I think it is meant that Regis was giving an imitation of his cat, Ashley. I understand because I am a cat lover. Today I am taking my chihuahua to see Dr. Sapienza and I believe he treated Ashley at one time. Does anyone know the outcome?????
