Don’t Fight Club Music’s Popularity when Movie Stars Get Involved

In the wake of the recent rise of Eminem and Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock, perhaps it’s not such a shock after all that superstar/Rolling Stone cross-dresser/actor Brad Pitt is apparently attached to the latest hit dubplate circulating amongst club DJs.

A song from the golden boy’s recent film Fight Club, "This is Your Life," features Pitt’s character Tyler Durden laying spoken-word agit-pop rhetoric over the Dust Brothers’ groove. Entertainment Tonight reports that this anti-establishment dance track is being played at underground clubs in L.A., though when Entertainment Tonight identifies you as an underground club, odds are you’re neither underground nor anti-establishment.

The CD soundtrack from the movie, with an original score by the Dust Brothers, is now out from BMG's Restless label, but doesn't yet feature the Pitt-vocals remix, which is currently solely available as a promotional-only single. Don’t fret yet, however, as the label has announced that come November 22nd in the UK, well after the film has faded from the box office, the track will be made available as a commercially-released single. Look for it in the bargain bins.
